The deadliest Ebola epidemic in history began in West Africa in 2013. The outbreak rapidly spread in six countries—Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, USA and Mali— leading to a death toll of over 10,000 according to the World Health Organization. The infection has been recorded via chimpanzees, fruit bats, monkeys and porcupines in Africa. However very little information about how the virus was transferred to humans. The widespread symptoms documented from West Africa during the outbreak include: fever, diarrhea, vomiting, loss of appetite and exhaustion. Below is a visual timeline of the deadly virus. The reason ebola spread quickly in Africa is due to the fact that they lack enough education to take safety measures when burying the bodies. They’re doing stupid things over there like getting blood transfusions from surviving patients expecting to get immunity and instead acquiring the disease.
