Statues are built to commemorate an important figure or for the purpose of art exhibition. Other countries construct colossal sculptures to represent their religion. The Spring Temple Buddha, made of gold, copper alloy and steel, is currently listed in the Guinness World Records as the world’s tallest statue. Statues of these sizes are designed by architects who are familiar with constructing tall buildings so those are definitely hollow inside.
