How Hydroelectric Power Works

While the sun can be covered by clouds and the wind flow can drop, hydroelectric power provides continuous power generation. This commonly used type of renewable energy harness the power of falling or flowing water. Typically, hydro plant system consist of three components: the electric plant where the electrical power is created; a dam for controlling water flow; and a reservoir to store water.
