History of Android OS: From Cupcake to Marshmallow

Google’s Android operating system has come a long way since it first came out on the T-Mobile G1 made by HTC in 2008. The platform has released hundreds of updates, loaded with various features, improvements and fixes. Google always names its latest version of Android OS after a dessert. if that wasn’t cool enough, the developers place these sweet names in alphabetical order: Cupcake (1.5), Donut (1.6), Eclair (2.0+), Froyo (2.2+), Gingerbread (2.3+), Honeycomb (3.0+), Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0+), Jelly Bean (4.1+), KitKat (4.4+), Lollipop (5.0+), Marshmallow(6.0+) and Nougat(7.0+).
