Book banning has been around since the time Roman Emperor Augustus banned Ovid’s written work(Ars Amatoria) in 2 AD. Every book that has been banned for being published, or circulated in schools, libraries and bookstores, is due to the content or message within it. Government authorities are censoring independent thoughts and opinions usually on the basis of politics, religion or public morality.
