Mars Environment: Atmosphere, Temperature and Terrain
200,000. That’s how many people have signed up for the trip to Mars according to Bas Lansdorp, the CEO of Mars One. The private company claims that by year 2025 they will be able to send four colonists for a one-way journey to the red planet. The mission was estimated to cost only around $6 billion, less than any NASA’s manned mission. But even though Mars is discovered to be the most Earth-like planet in our Solar System, its environment, atmosphere and temperature is quite harsh and filled with radiation compared to Earth.
