A Brief History of the Masters Golf Tournament
The Masters is probably the world’s most prestigious golf tournament. Originally named the Augusta National Invitation Tournament back in 1934, The Masters has long been an invitation-only competition, where the Augusta clubs committee invite professional golf players to play in the tourney. It is traditionally held at the Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia annually in April, and a regular stop of PGA tour qualifiers. More of The Masters golf history below.
